Ohara School of Ikebana
Founded by Unshin Ohara in the late nineteenth century. Ohara ikebana finds inspiration in the mountains and fields to create an ikebana style that conveys the beauty of nature. Two basic forms are found in the Ohara School of Ikebana: Moribana, where plant material is arranged in low, shallow containers, and Heika, where plant material is arranged in tall cylindrical vases. Advanced style consists of a wide variety of traditional and free-style arrangements.
